Galveston County Is Part of Our Regular Market
Galveston County sits within Stone River's primary service area. We are not a reach-market contractor for this region. Our equipment is staged in Houston and Galveston County is a regular part of our project geography, including the Island, Texas City, League City, Friendswood, and the communities along the I-45 corridor.
Commercial development along the Gulf Coast requires contractors who understand coastal soil conditions, tidal influence on groundwater, and the stormwater management requirements specific to Galveston County and the Texas General Land Office jurisdiction in coastal areas. Stone River brings that familiarity to every project in this market.

What Galveston Area Earthwork Requires
Galveston County earthwork is defined by two conditions that do not appear together anywhere else in the Stone River service area: coastal proximity and near-surface water table. Much of the county sits at or near sea level, which means detention design, drainage outfall elevation, and trench dewatering all require more attention than comparable inland scopes.
Soils in the area range from fine beach sand near the Island to soft silty clay and marsh fill further inland. Compaction on fine-grained coastal soils requires careful moisture management and lift control. Projects near the bay or Gulf shoreline may also carry Texas General Land Office jurisdiction and additional coastal construction permit requirements.

Yes. Stone River works on Galveston Island for qualifying commercial scopes.
